Another year, another Payette Brew Crew trail maintenance day with ridge to rivers on our adopted Boise trail, Polecat Loop!

Payette Brewing has been helping maintain Polecat Loop since 2014 and this year our team got down and dirty again to #PayetteForward on one of our favorite Boise trails!

We wrangled 12 of our Payette employees from all departments of the brewery to put in work on our annual trail maintenance day.

This is no easy stroll on the trail — a day of maintenance is filled with hours of breaking up and filling in the ruts created by Mother Nature after a long winter and a lot of runoff. We hauled in buckets, shovels & Mcleods to repair and preserve the trail and drainage system, alongside our friends from Ridge to Rivers. And to finish off a hot May afternoon working in the sun, we reward ourselves with some cold Payette brews…of course!

Cheers to another successful trail clean up in the books, and we hope to see all you hikers, bikers & trail runners out there!

About Polecat Loop

“The Polecat Trail system was developed in 2007. It contains over 7 miles of winding single track trails that offer outstanding views of the Treasure Valley as well as the Boise Ridgeline. Trails in this area cross through lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the City of Boise, as well as private property through an easement. Please stay only on system trails. The Polecat Reserve trails are excellent beginner trails for mountain bikers, due to their relatively easy grades.”

About Ridge to Rivers

“The Boise Foothills provide a postcard backdrop that inspires and soothes the soul. An interconnected network of roads and trails courses through these hills, linking not only neighborhoods with public lands but also connecting people with the natural environment. With over 190 miles of trail, there is something for everyone. Here we provide ideas and tips about where to go, how to enjoy the foothills without hurting them and information about the area you may find interesting. As you explore, notice the diversity in the land, the plants and the animals, then imagine our community without this unique treasure. You can help protect and care for this special place by learning more about the land and its needs.”
