In 2014, Payette Brewing adopted Polecat Loop in the Boise Foothills Ridge to Rivers Trail System. We “Payette Forward” with our bi-annual maintenance and clean-up to preserve the trails for all the bikers, hikers and trail runners.

Last week, with the Ridge to Rivers Trail Crew staff, 14 Payette Brewing co-workers headed out the Boise Foothills for an afternoon for our bi-annual trail maintenance with buckets, shovels and McLeods in tow. Our good friends with the Ridge to Rivers crew spent a few hours with our team repairing the trail damage to make sure water can flow appropriately, the trail has the right bumps and structural features that are desired for mountain bikers and filled any unnecessary cracks or divots that can be harmful to the trail.

We got our hands dirty and brought our adopted trail back to good-lookin' shape, with the drainage well supported. We then ended the afternoon with a couple Payette beers, of course.

“The Polecat Trail system was developed in 2007. It contains over 7 miles of winding single track trails that offer outstanding views of the Treasure Valley as well as the Boise Ridgeline. Trails in this area cross through lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the City of Boise, as well as private property through an easement. Please stay only on system trails. The Polecat Reserve trails are excellent beginner trails for mountain bikers, due to their relatively easy grades.”
